A cherished moment.. Spoke at the annual National Conference of Diabetic Foot.. DFSICON 2022 at the Taj Convention Center, Goa. Special thanks to my mentor Dr Arun Bal and the organisers n friends Dr Sanjay Vaidya and Dr Srinivas.

What a wonderful weekend and a proud moment. IPA.. Indian Podiatry Association, Maharashtra Chapter hosted the first live workshop on Foot Care in Diabetics.
The workshop was well attended by over a hundred delegates and topics ranged from control of Diabetes to Neuropathy to advanced wound care procedures and wound covers. It was indeed an academic feast.

Dr APS Suri, National President IPA was the inspiration behind the whole event and conducted the workshop with tremendous zeal. Dr Rajnish Saxena and Dr Manish Jangam from the Central core Committee and our own Dr Rajiv Kovil were always at hand for any guidance and help. Dr Utture, President MMC was the guest of Honour.

The icing on the cake was the Keynote address by Dr Shashank Joshi who was also conferred the Fellowship of IPA amongst others.

Lastly as President of the Maharashtra Chapter of IPA, I must mention that the program was a huge success and well taken by the audience. I shall attribute this success to the wonderful ladies who i call the FAB 4.. Dr Dakshata Padhye, Dr Sonali Patange, Dr Farhat Shaikh and Dr Pallavi Singh. They worked hard for the program and took it to this level by systematic and disciplined management.

Shanta Siddhi Trust and Dfc_india (Diabetic Foot Clinic) conducted a diabetic foot screening and evaluation camp at the DFC clinic at Mahim on Sunday 6th March 2022.

The camp was well attended. It was inaugurated by the noted spine surgeon Dr P S Ramani.
Present on the dais were Dr Tushar D Rege, Dr Aparna Rege, Ms S D Rege and Dr Farhat Shaikh .. all directors  of Dfc Foot Clinic Private Limited and Mr Bhushan Jack, secretary of the trust.

Dr Manasi Rege initiated the proceedings and Dr Ramani and Dr Rege outlined the importance of proper care related mainly to the foot as well as General well being.

Dr Farhat Shaikh proposed the vote of thanks. The members of the staff were also felicitated.

Biothesiometry, Doppler and Sugar tests were also performed on the attendees.

The aim of the camp was to create awareness amongst the general population and diabetics to prevent infections in the foot and to prevent gangrene and amputations.

Dfc_india (diabetic foot clinic) has very keenly conducted such activities in the past and will continue to do so in future with the sole aim of preventing gangrene and  amputations in diabetics.


Dr Tushar D Rege, Director, Dfc_india (DIABETIC FOOT CLINIC) was invited Faculty to the prestigious IMMAST, Mumbai.. a world class training center to speak on DIABETIC FOOT.

The training was held for practising consultants in the field Medicine n Diabetology. Demonstrations and HandsOn workshop was also conducted.

Dfc_india (Diabetic Foot Clinic) and SPG (Shivaji Park Gymkhana) organised a Diabetic Foot Awareness Program on Sunday, the 11th November 2018 at Shivaji Park, Mumbai.
Blood sugar tests were conducted and a walk was undertaken for a short distance to highlight the importance of diabetes complications. Around 150 people, mostly Diabetics… participated.
Dr Tushar D Rege gave a small talk on ways and means to prevent amputations and highlighted that it is only awareness, discipline and proper care of the foot which can avoid complications like gangrene and amputations. An Entertainment programme was conducted which literally lightened the atmosphere in the crowd and got them involved in dancing and frolic. The program ended with a lucky draw. Free gifts including glucometers were distributed to the registered people.
14th November is WORLD DIABETES DAY. Let us all strive to prevent to prevent amputations.
